Chamber Choir ''Novadi''

Chamber Choir "Novadi".

The camber choir „Novadi” was founded in February 2009. The fonder of choir is compuser, poet and conductor Helmuts Feldmanis.

The camber choir has often performed for another latvian communities across the England. Veri inportant and touching was a joint concert with english Choir „Com Brio” from Bradford on Avon.

„Novadi” has good cooperation with St. Peters & St. Pauls church in Mansfield where traditionaly they give the concert every year.

The title „Novadi” in english means – ethnic countrys. It symbolises, that the singers are coming from different parts of Latvia like Kurzeme, Zemgale, Vidzeme, Latgale.

There are more then 20 people singing in camber choir. The youngest singer is 15 years of age and oldest is over 70 years. All the singers are good friends and reliable team mates.    

Choir singing is very popular in Latvia for hundreds and hundreds of years. It rouseed compousers to compose a lot of original choir songs an arangements of latvian folk songs. Some of these songs are in repertoire of „Novadi”. They enjoy singing popular lavian songs arranged by the leader H. Feldmanis as well as popular melodies from the West.

The leader of camber choir is a songwritter. For this reason his own songs make the part of „Novadi” repertoire.
